2016-A SEASON OF LIGHT by Bill Burns

LightJanuary 4, 2016:

You are entering into a season of light.  The light that brings revelation and reveals My presence is upon you.  Even though darkness is increasing on earth, My glory shall rest upon those who are Mine, says the Lord.  You shall begin to shine forth in My kingdom, so be filled with joy.  For, it is the season to do so.  Isaiah 60:1-2  Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the LORD will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you.

This scripture is spoken of prophetically in Isaiah 21:11-12 where the Lord asks a question of the prophets:  “Watchmen what of the night (darkness)?”  The watchman says, “The morning (light) comes in the darkness (night).

And, then to the prophets the Lord says, “Return to Me, come back to your calling, and then inquire of Me; ask and it (My word) shall be given.”

The light that is coming will come with the prophetic word that is pure.

2 Peter 1:19-21  And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts; knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

The light that guides us in the darkness that is all around us will be given to us by the Lord.

Revelation 2:28  “I will give him the Morning Star.”  Prophetic light!

Signs of Confirmation

1.  On June 30th of 2015 the Star of Bethlehem was visible.  It was over 2,000 years ago that it was first seen.  In Matthew 2:2 the wise men said, “We have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.”

2.  The Christmas Moon:  A full moon on December 25 is a sign of the light of this season.  The moon is a symbol of the Church, which is the reflected light of the Sun. (Malachi 4:2)

The Purpose of the Light is to enable us to see clearly, to know God’s presence, and to receive revelation (understanding) and inspiration, and to reveal destiny.

Satan has been hindering our ability to see clearly.

The Lord says that the enemy has been bringing a spiritual fog into your spiritual atmosphere. This has caused you to be unable to see clearly. It has created doubt around the things that you are making decisions for. It has caused you to be unclear about that which you are to pray and that which you are to do. But, the Lord says, “Watch now for I bring My wind. And, I will remove the fog, which has encased you. I will remove from you the obstruction that has kept you from seeing clearly. You are now entering into the season of light and the glory of this season shall come with great clarity, great purpose of mind and the greatness of strength of the anointing of My Spirit. Expect Me to clear the atmosphere that has hindered you so that you may see clearly all things, says the Almighty.”

Healing and Provision will come with the light of this season.

Small Straws by Marsha Burns:  In a vision I saw a very great multitude of broken people, and I could feel God’s work of repairing and bringing to perfection each individual who asked Him for help.  It was a deep, spiritual work for everyone who made an effort to come into His presence and extend even the smallest amount of faith.  It was a profound and abiding work.  Powerful!  Luke 11:10 “For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.”

Small Straws by Marsha Burns:  For those of you who have been absolutely obedient to do all that I have asked of you in recent days and weeks, I am coming to you to reward you.  I will open the heavens and pour out My glory upon you in ways that you would never have considered, says the Lord.  Watch and be amazed.
Isaiah 40:10   Behold, the Lord GOD shall come with a strong hand, and His arm shall rule for Him; behold, His reward is with Him, and His work before Him.

John 3:2   Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.

Colossians 1:12   Giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light.

If God is providing the light for us in this season, then we must walk in His light if we are to receive the blessings of the season.

1 John 1:5-7  This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.  If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.  But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.

Psalm 119:105  Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.

We must also wear the armor of the season.

Romans 13:12  The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.

Fight the good fight, knowing that the enemy will be revealed by the light.

And, we must watch!

1 Thessalonians 5:5-6  You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness.  Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober.

Ephesians 5:13-14  But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light.  Therefore He says: “Awake, you who sleep, Arise from the dead, And Christ will give you light.”

The New Anointing for this season is “Strength For Victory.”  This anointing will bring the power required for breakthrough and victory.

2 Corinthians 2:14  Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.

This new season is bringing a new anointing that will create the next phase of existence.

Small Straws by Marsha Burns:  You are about to enter a new phase of existence, but there are things that need to be finished before you can forge ahead.  Make the best use of your time and opportunities to deal with issues that would hinder you in the future, says the Lord.  I will give you discernment, wisdom, and guidance to do all that is necessary.  Isaiah 45:2 I will go before you and make the crooked places straight; I will break in pieces the gates of bronze and cut the bars of iron.

This anointing will change the spiritual atmosphere that we live in.  Doubt and fear will not be able to hinder the new level of faith that this anointing will bring.

Divine Order

The process of divine order will continue the progression of God’s purposes among His people.

We find ourselves continuing to be ordered by God so that we can fulfill our destiny for such a time as this.

Small Straws by Marsha Burns:  If you are to live in My Spirit and establish yourself in divine order, you must do all that I ask, says the Lord.  You, My people, have come a long way, but you must push through until your obedience is fulfilled.  Don’t stop short of your goal, but rather push through to complete freedom from all that holds you back.  1 Corinthians 9:24 Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it.

The End Times

I believe that we are living in the end times, or in the words of our Lord in Matthew 28:20 “I am with you always even to the end of the age.”

And, the apostle Paul referred to these days in:
2 Timothy 3:1  But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come:

In these last days Satan will continue to promote fear and unbelief as they relate to the current events-events such as terrorism, civil unrest, adverse weather and economic decline.

However, we must realize that God has provided the antidote for overcoming Satan’s activity.
2 Timothy 1:7  For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

Ephesians 3:12  “In Jesus we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in Him.”  Read Hebrews chapter 11, and renew your position of faith.

1 John 5:4  For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world-our faith.

Meditate on and apply these scriptures to your circumstances, and you will be victorious.

Judgment will continue to manifest because of the unrighteous decrees, which governments make.

Isaiah 10:1  “Woe to those who decree unrighteous decrees, who write misfortune, which they have prescribed.”

God’s Provision

God is now bringing His wind to remove the fog, which has kept you from seeing clearly.  This will continue into the spring of the year and then He will bring His spiritual rain to wash away the dust (defilement) left by Satan’s attacks.

Zechariah 10:1  Ask the LORD for rain In the time of the latter rain. The LORD will make flashing clouds; He will give them showers of rain, grass in the field for everyone.

Acts 14:17  “Nevertheless He did not leave Himself without witness, in that He did good, gave us rain from heaven and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.”

Ask for God’s rain because His blessings will come with it.  Your new season will be filled with fruitfulness (blessings).

Conclusion

This season will bring opportunities to grow spiritually as a Christian.  The Lord will be with you to lead and guide you through these tumultuous times.  You will be changed by the glory of the One who will be with you.

2 Corinthians 3:18  But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

The new season has begun.  You will not be disappointed if you choose to take this spiritual journey into 2016.

SIMPLIFY AND FORTIFY by Bill/Marsha Burns

Butterfly On Rocks
January 1st 2016
We are prophetically making our way to another new plateau, a higher level in the realm of the Spirit.

The instructions from the Lord are to Simply and Fortify. Our progression will require our undivided attention to stay on course. If we are too scattered, we will miss the importance of the season and make mistakes that could be hard to fix. We must have enough clarity to hear and obey His leading.

In a vision I saw a man making his way up a very steep mountain to reach the place where he would build his house. As he climbed he got tangled in vines and weeds that hindered his ascent. And, I heard the Lord say, “I’m taking you, My people, to a new dwelling place in the Spirit. It is higher than you have ever been. However, the enemy will try to prevent your progression. You must resist the temptations that entangle you and keep you from your destination.”

“I want to bring you to a new and higher spiritual level where you can begin to see with clear perspective. From this place your life will be a process of unfolding step by step as I go before you to prepare the way for My purposes to be revealed and demonstrated in your life. Take an inventory of your mental and spiritual condition. You are still in the simplify-and-fortify process as change continues to position you for My highest and best. Make an honest assessment of what is important to you, and adjust your priorities so that you truly seek first My kingdom,” says the Lord.

Life is in knowing what you live for:
It is up to each one of us to find the common denominator of life and to measure our selves against this standard.
Connection
It will be more important than ever in the perilous times we live in to stay connected to God and develop a vital relationship with Him instead of doing external religious exercise. We must stay present with God so that we are able to hear, see, and know by the Spirit. This will be a requirement for the Body of Christ this year.
John 17:11 “Now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep through Your name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We are.”

Galatians 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Truth and Freedom
It is time to break away from everything that keeps us from optimal spiritual freedom.
John 4:24 “God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

We must let go of the past before we can move forward with freedom.

“I am calling you to know true freedom, which will be the result of no guile, no control or manipulation, no unreasonable expectations, and no spiritual clutter. I want you to be unencumbered and free enough to trust Me completely. This is the beginning of a new era of righteousness and purity. Let freedom ring. Recognize and abandon every form of managing or exploiting other people for personal gain,” says the Lord.
Psalms 32:2 Blessed is the man to whom the LORD does not impute iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit.
Psalms 34:13 Keep your tongue from evil, and your lips from speaking deceit.
1 Peter 3:10 For “He who would love life and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips from speaking deceit.”

Obedience
Complete obedience is more important than ever, and it will be a huge factor this year. We will now incorporate changes that have occurred into a time of stability on this higher level. We must be true to what the Lord has instructed and led us to do without deviation. Perfect and divine purpose requires perfect obedience.

Romans 6:16 Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness?

Purity
We must keep our spiritual space clean and clear, striving to maintain pure thoughts, motives and actions.
Pure and undefiled religion before God–
James 1:
25 But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.
26 If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this one’s religion is useless.
27 Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.

Jesus is once again overturning the tables in the temple.

John 2:13-16 Now the Passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. And He found in the temple those who sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the money changers doing business. When He had made a whip of cords, He drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and the oxen, and poured out the changers’ money and overturned the tables. And He said to those who sold doves, “Take these things away! Do not make My Father’s house a house of merchandise!”

Words from the Lord to the Body of Christ–2016:

“You have been in the process of coming into divine order and of streamlining all that I have called you to do and to be. What you have done will stand and be a place of peace, but you must maintain that position because the enemy of your soul will fight you for it.

“You will be tested in ways that will reveal how and where you compromise. You will see how you justify yourself in wrong attitudes and patterns of behavior. Then, you will have the opportunity to choose the most righteous position and carry it out.

“Hear the cry of the Spirit calling you to come higher. It is time to put all laziness behind you and put forth the effort to walk and live at the highest level of your spiritual revelation and understanding. This will require transcending religious tradition.
“Desire to live and practice precise discernment. You will be able to experience and exhibit keen insight that will result in good judgment and righteous decisions. Do not deviate from this position through selfish ambition.

“This will be a season when you can overcome and forgive yourself for mistakes of the past and move into a phase of creativity and productivity beyond what you could have imagined. Rejection must become a thing of the past and not something that defines your life.
“You have justified taking advantage of other people as a means to survival, but I tell you truthfully that I am your avenue of not only surviving, but of thriving. I will cause you to thrive in extraordinary ways if you consciously and deliberately stop all exploitation.
“It is time to face the root of your pain and trust Me to bring healing to your body as well as your soul and spirit. I am the supreme healer; access by faith.

“You must cut the anchors-everything that prevented you from your potential, and kept you from moving forward in My purposes for you. Your steps of advancement and achievement must then become platforms of thanksgiving and worship, which is necessary to your success.
“Unselfishness will become a pathway to reward as you give of yourself, your time, and your resources. Your generosity is a sweet fragrance to Me.
“Embrace and revitalize the gifts that I have bestowed upon you spiritually and in the realm of creative expression.  Do not minimize or neglect what I have counted as precious in My sight.”

“Protected From the Accuser” by Francis Frangipane

The fact is, for better or for worse, people are going to talk about you. You cannot do the will of God without causing changes, and changes will always cause some to stumble. In fact, Jesus said we were to beware when all men speak well of us. He said we cannot serve two masters; if we are to truly please Him, we cannot be distracted by trying to please everyone else.

At the same time, there is a demonic strategy that is set against those who teach God’s Word and minister to His people. The enemy’s campaign is not only aimed at destroying the shepherd; he also seeks to scatter the sheep. If Satan’s attack is successful, everyone involved will come out of the battle with less love and a hardened heart.

I find it amazing that individuals can react so differently to the same teaching. One will be uplifted and encouraged while another may not only miss the Lord’s blessing, but also actually be offended by an isolated statement.

It seems that for every person who takes the hammer and chisel to make an idol of a preacher, there is someone else with a hammer and spikes ready to crucify him. Unless that man is sustained by the Lord, the pressures against him can be overwhelming.

Most people fail to remember that a minister is just like any other Christian. He or she is not Superman; bullets (and words) do not bounce off his chest. He is not invulnerable to cruel and malicious talk. He is an imperfect person called to serve the living God in the Body of Christ; but he is nonetheless just a person.

For most, church is a place where people go to express their worship of God, to be taught, and to have fellowship. But to the man or woman of God, the church is God’s garden. Most of the real work a pastor does is not in the pulpit but in the unheralded service of cultivating love and trust in personal relationships.

In God’s eyes, the Church is much more than a meeting place of casual acquaintances or doctrinally united Believers. To the Father, the Church is a living temple, a human house for the Spirit of His Son. The Bible says that when He placed us in our particular church it actually gave Him pleasure (1 Corinthians 12:18). Together with the Holy Spirit, the pastor and elders work to bring the church into a right relationship with God’s love and then to spread that love throughout the entire citywide church.

God has provided honorable ways for people to transfer from one church to another. If someone wants to leave a church to start their own, there are proper ways to receive God’s anointing and be sent. (See Acts 13:1-3.) It is not necessary to find fault and cause a church split. When things are done correctly and in order, people are edified.

But when relationships are severed and destroyed through malicious gossip, or when a developing trust is turned into mistrust through backbiting and criticism, God Himself is angered (Proverbs 6:16-19). And if God is offended, how much more difficult is it for His servants to remain aloof from the conflict that sin causes.

The Answer

So how does a man or woman of God find the balance between his basic need to survive and his responsibility to please God? The answer is to put on Christ’s love.

A number of years ago I went through a difficult time during which a handful of people made me the target of ongoing criticism. There is a type of constructive criticism coming through people who love you, that teaches and helps you to prosper, and there is a different type of criticism that comes through an embittered spirit that is not meant to correct you but to destroy you. It was the latter relationship that I had with these people.

To be honest, I am sure that there were areas in my life that were out of balance; some of their complaints were justified. Much of what they had to say, however, was said to others behind my back. Our congregation was being destabilized by these individuals. Try as I did, nothing I could say or repent of would silence them.

For three years I sought the Lord, yet He would not vindicate me of their accusations. Instead, He dealt with me. He reached deep into the very substructure of my soul and began to touch hidden areas of my life.

At issue with the Lord was not my sin, but my “self.” The Bible says our sins are ever before us (Psalm 51:3); these I could see. But I had no perspective on my own soul. The Lord allowed this criticism to continue until it unearthed something deeper and more fundamentally wrong than any of my doctrinal interpretations or sins. It unearthed me. (Photo via Pexels)

The Holy Spirit began to show me how easily I was manipulated by people’s criticisms, and especially how much my sense of peace was governed by the acceptance or rejection of man. As much as I prayed, God would not deliver me from my enemy. He saved me by killing that part of me that was vulnerable to the devil, and He did it with the accusations themselves.

I will never forget the day it dawned on me that both God and the devil wanted me to die, but for different reasons. Satan wanted to destroy me through slander and then drain me with the unceasing activity of explaining “my side” to people. At the same time, God wanted to crucify that part of my soul that was so easily exploited by the devil in the first place!

It was a pivotal day when I realized that this battle was not going to be over until I died to what people said about me. It was probably at this point that I finally and truly became a servant of God.

Today I stand in awe of what the Lord did during those terrible yet wonderful months. He knew a time would come when the things I wrote would touch the lives of millions of people. To inoculate me from the praise of man, He baptized me in the criticism of man until I died to the control of man.

Do not misunderstand me: I still honestly pray about things submitted to me by others, and I am accountable to other leaders. I even have staff people whose assignment is to give me a critical analysis of my life and work. But I am no longer ruled by man. I live for God’s pleasure, and if I happen to please man, that is His business, not mine.

“These Prayer Requests Have No Postage on Them – Return to Sender!” by Bill Yount

Prayer Request 18 (26)

In the Spirit I saw many prayers ascending upward toward the throne. I sensed that many of these prayers were being prayed according to the Father’s perfect will. Many were prayers for gifts, callings, and destinies to be manifested. A majority were bundles of prayers for the lost, especially for family members. Many of these prayer requests were made up of strong cries, day and night with fasting, that had become heavy burdens on hearts over the years.

As these prayers began to ascend, they seemed to go only so far and then drop back down to earth as though they were bouncing off the ceiling from where they were being prayed. I saw in Heaven something like a huge “heavenly post office” where prayer requests are received and where answers to prayers are sent out. At the entrance of this “heavenly post office” on the front door was written in gigantic letters the Scripture Philippians 4:6: “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made known unto God.”

Many Prayers Weren’t Making It

As huge bundles of prayer requests came through the front door on the way to the throne room, I was appalled by how many requests were being stopped and never made it to the throne room for answers. I heard a voice that shook me. An angelic postmaster general proclaimed, “These prayer requests have no postage on them. Return to sender!” (Photo via Freeimages/Tawny Nelson)

In the Spirit I saw these huge bundles of prayer requests like letters that had no postage stamps on them. These could go no farther! The ones I did see going on into the throne room to be answered had a postage stamp of “thanksgiving” on them. These ones became “priority mail” inside the throne room, and immediate confirmation of peace was sent to the sender with the following verse: “And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:7).

Before the answers of these prayers were manifested on earth, the people that sent their requests with thanksgiving were receiving the assurance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not yet seen because of the peace of God they were receiving through “giving of thanks”.

There Can’t Be Thanksgiving Until There’s Believing

Many prayers for lost loved ones never really reached their heavenly destination, not because people weren’t praying, but they simply were not believing that they would receive what they were asking for. Therefore, to be thankful was very difficult for them.

The Lord seemed to say, “Tell My people that many have already prayed and prayed and filled Heaven with their prayers for the lost and their loved ones. They actually need to stop praying and simply believe ME to save them. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved…and thy house! Many are carrying a false responsibility, feeling that they are responsible to get their family members saved. May I remind you that you could not save your own self, and therefore, you cannot save anybody else. And since I saved you, I can save anybody!” (Photo via Pixabay)

Many who were faithfully praying for family members for many years were actually praying themselves into a state of depression. I sense the Spirit saying, This kind of praying is not scriptural! Begin to believe and start thanking Me that I am going to save them now! Thank Me that I am going to bring in the lost. Just send up some stamps of ‘thanksgiving,’ and I will stamp your prayer requests to forward them to the throne.”

Start Living as Though Your Prayers Are Already Answered!

I sensed the Father saying, “As you are thanking Me, go ahead and start treating the lost as though they were already saved. Start living as though your prayers are already answered! When you do, your life will become so full of thanksgiving and praise and worship, that you will begin to see My heavenly ‘UPS’ and ‘FED EX’ arrive, bringing speedy delivery from Heaven to impossible requests upon the earth! Praise and worship moves Me to do outrageous acts of blessings upon the earth!”

I remembered when Peter was put in prison and the Church was praying for his deliverance. There was also a prayer meeting going on for Peter in a woman’s house. Her name was Mary. As the angel came and delivered Peter, he made a straight run to Mary’s house. I believe he felt the power of their prayers.

We Can Stop Praying Now!

As he knocked on the front door, a handmaiden, Rhoda, answered the door and got so excited she forgot to let Peter in. Rhoda ran inside that prayer meeting shouting, “Peter is at the front door. We can stop praying now!” (Photo via Wikimedia Commons)

For some reason they didn’t seem to hear her. Perhaps someone was giving a strong prophetic utterance about Peter’s soon release! Again, I can hear Rhoda shouting, “Our answered prayer is at the front door! We can stop praying!” Finally, Rhoda gets the prayer group’s attention, and here is the spiritual temperature in that prayer room – here is what they say to Rhoda: “You must see his ghost!” In other words, “We don’t believe it!”

You Will Never See It If You Don’t Believe It

You can pray for a hundred years, but unless you believe that you are going to receive what you are asking for, you will never see it! “Whatsoever things you ask in prayer, believe that you receive them and you shall have them.”

I personally believe there are some prayer meetings that need to be broken up. Many churches have prayer meetings, but few have “prayer-believing” meetings. It was easier for Peter to get out of prison than it was for him to get inside that prayer meeting!

Our Thanksgiving Proves Our Faith

Next time you pray, try putting a postage stamp of “thanksgiving” on your request. I promise you, you will enjoy prayer time much more, and you will probably live much longer! Prayer with thanksgiving proves to God that we believe we are going to receive what we are asking for. (Photo via Pixabay)

As a father, when my children thank me for something in advance, it’s hard for me to get out of giving it to them!

History-Making Intercessors: “Attention! Be On Alert!” by James W. Goll

James Goll

“Attention! Be On Alert!”

One of my primary tasks for years has been to be a “watchman on the walls”. I, like many others, have prayed on sight with insight at many historic locations around the globe. But my primary two assignments have always been the United States of America and the nation of Israel. Every year I set special time aside to intercede on days such as the National Day of Prayer, Day of Atonement, Global Day of Prayer, Passover, Pentecost and many other special days.

But some of my most strategic times of prayer are when I am alone in the middle of the night, being awakened by the Holy Spirit calling me to be on the walls, waiting and watching and responding to the burden of the Lord. This often looks like prayers of authority for crisis and prophetic intercession.

Recently an angel of the Lord came and stood at the end of my bed in my home and awakened me by its presence. I sat up in bed startled all over again. This warrior angel exuded a presence of authority, strength and might, and the manifested presence in my bedroom was one of the “fear of the Lord”.

The angel simply stared at me for a while, and then announced, “Attention! Be on the alert!” It was impossible for me not to be attentive at that moment. Having had various encounters previously, I knew not to take this lightly. I knew this was a call not just to me but to the intercessors in the United States and around the world. It was a Call to Arms! It was a call to not give up. I was charged with a power of the Holy Spirit to, “Never, Never, Never Give Up!”

One of the first great intercessors in the Bible was Abraham, and his most famous intercessory prayer was for one of the most sinful places in the ancient world! Sodom and Gomorrah have become synonymous with sin, sexual debauchery, and sodomy, yet the great Patriarch of Israel, the “father of faith,” interceded passionately that those twin cities of sin be spared! I believe it was this kind of compassion that led God to say, “Shall I hide from Abraham what I am about to do?” (Genesis 18:17 NASB)

Following in the Footsteps of Abraham

When God told Abraham that He planned to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah, the patriarch asked God if He planned to destroy the righteous people along with the wicked. Abraham then made the counterproposal, “Will You indeed sweep away the righteous with the wicked? Suppose there are fifty righteous within the city; will You indeed sweep it away and not spare the place for the sake of the fifty righteous who are in it?” (Genesis 18:23b-24 NASB).

When God agrees to relent if 50 righteous people were found, Abraham persisted to drive the numbers lower, knowing only Lot and his family could possibly qualify. The patriarch whittled the number down to 20, and in verse 32 he reached a pivotal place that is important for us to see. Abraham said, “Oh may the Lord not be angry, and I shall speak only this once; suppose ten are found there?” (Genesis 18:32 NASB)

God agrees to Abraham’s request, but this passage causes us to wonder, What if Abraham hadn’t stopped at ten? God definitely showed no signs of being angry with Abraham over his persistent intercession and pleading on behalf of Sodom and Gomorrah. In fact, I believe God liked it. I have a hunch that Abraham could have gone even lower. (But, then again, I wasn’t there and I certainly don’t have all the facts at hand.) However, this incident illustrates one of the fundamental laws governing the relationship between God and man: God quits when man quits. (Photo via James Goll)

What did you say, James? Yes, God quits when man quits! Sounds like a bunch of works with no grace involved – some people might think. No, God loves a good fight and He calls us to be enforcers of Christ’s triumph on the Cross. We are Kingdom Enforcers! We are called to be His tenacious bulldogs in the Holy Spirit and we are invited as co-laborers to lay hold of the promises of God for our generation and not let go until. Until What? Until the fullness of His Kingdom comes on earth as it is in Heaven!

History-making intercessors just flat out never give up. They continue until! I love it…so will you. I am known for the prophetic, as a historian and teacher, but my highest place in God is as a Holy Ghost Barterer. Yours can be also!

Four Clear Biblical Definitions of an Intercessor

I have taught the following four clear points for years around the globe. But you must bring all of these Scriptural examples together to see our full role as History Makers. These four Biblical definitions of an intercessor paint a succinct picture of our amazing calling as effective prayer warriors. So hold on – you’ve gotta get the whole picture – not just a one-frame shot. So let’s gain some greater insight by clearer definition.

An effective intercessor is one who:

1. Reminds the Lord of promises and appointments not yet met and fulfilled.

On your walls, O Jerusalem, I have appointed watchmen; all day and all night they will never keep silent. You who remind the Lord, take no rest for yourselves; and give Him no rest until He establishes and makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth. Isaiah 62:6-7 NASB

2. Takes up the case of justice before God on behalf of another.

Yes, truth is lacking; and he who turns aside from evil makes himself a prey. Now the Lord saw, and it was displeasing in His sight that there was no justice. And He saw that there was no man, and was astonished that there was no one to intercede… Isaiah 59:15-16a NASB

3. Builds up the wall of protection against the demonic forces in critical times of battle.

O Israel, your prophets have been like foxes among ruins. You have not gone up into the breaches, nor did you build the wall around the house of Israel to stand in the battle on the day of the Lord. Ezekiel 13:4-5 NASB

4. Stands in the gap between God’s righteous judgment, which is due, and the need for mercy on the people’s behalf.

“And I searched for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand in the gap before Me for the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one. Thus I have poured out My indignation on them; I have consumed them with the fire of My wrath; their way I have brought upon their heads,” declares the Lord God. Ezekiel 22:30-31 NASB (Photo via James Goll)

Bringing all four of these definitions together we see the following: An intercessor is one who relentlessly reminds the Lord of His prophetic promises while identifying the needs for justice in our generation. We do spiritual warfare against the powers of darkness in the mighty name of Jesus while lifting a cry for mercy upon our spheres of delegated rule for Christ’s name sake!

Whew! That is history-making intercession for sure. Makes me want to sign up all over again. How about you?!

How Do We Respond to His Promises?

History-making intercessors deal with two kinds of promises: 1. the promises recorded in the Word of God which are yet to be fulfilled or are ongoing promises available to every Believer by faith; and 2. the prophetic, revelatory promises given to us in our day through the voice of God and the gifts of the Holy Spirit which are true, but also are yet to be fulfilled (see 1 Timothy 1:18-19). We must contend for the promises!

God tells us in the Book of Jeremiah that He is watching over His Word to perform it (see Jeremiah 1:12). That means the most valid and effective way to present our case before God is to rehearse and respectfully remind Him of His unchanging Word. When we rehearse a promise from our faithful God, He requires Himself to watch over that Word to perform it. But this entreaty only can be done with the purest of motives from hearts that are clean before God.

Even then, we are only authorized to “argue” or present our case for those things and petitions which: 1. Are in accordance with God’s will; 2. Extend His Kingdom; and 3. Glorify His name.

Christians who believe in the current-day operation of the gifts of the Spirit need to make sure their arsenal includes the foundational evangelical truths: the integrity of the Scriptures as the inspired, infallible Word of God and the final authority in salvation, doctrine, conduct, reproof, and correction. Many evangelicals, on the other hand, need to add the fervor, faith, and power of the present-day ministry of the Holy Spirit and His gifts.

We need an Acts 13 wedding between the School of the Word and the School of the Spirit. Then and only then can we proceed with assurance into the fullness of what God has in mind for this generation. Years ago, I once publicly heard the revivalist and statesman Leonard Ravenhill declare, “If you have the Word without the Spirit, you will dry up. If you have the Spirit without the Word, you will blow up. But if you have the Spirit with the Word, you will grow up.” I say amen to this simple declaration.

So let’s kneel on the promises both written and revelatory and birth them from the revelatory, spiritual realm into the natural, earthly realm. “Your Kingdom come! Your Will be done! On Earth as it is in Heaven!” (Photo via James Goll)

Impose the heavenly rule of Christ Jesus in a time and space world. Stretch forth your rod of authority and reign on… be on the ATTENTION! It is time to call forth a Holy Spirit Border Patrol Guard around the gates of this nation.

Are you attentive? Are you on the Alert? Are you watching with Him? Are you waiting on Him or is He waiting on Us? “Attention! Be on the Alert!”

A watchman on the walls!

Prophetic Alert by Kim Clement: Cataclysmic Time Leading Into & During Summer

It' Time To Pray For Government
During the early hours of this morning, again I had a deep sense of urgency due to the rift and hostility between the USA (current administration) and Israel. It was a deep sense of urgency. For a few, long seconds a veil was opened up and before my eyes I saw a series of events in the USA planned internally and externally, that could ultimately affect our lifestyle and specifically our children. God showed me and stated clearly that it was His desire to cease the hostility in order to prevent some of these catastrophes.

I am by no means a negative doom and gloom prophet but with the same clarity that I saw and prophesied Hurricane Katrina, I saw one specific event that would be similar, and then a series of focused terror events in the USA and Europe. It would be a “cataclysmic period leading into and during Summer” if God does not intervene. The few words that came before me were, “social and political upheaval, deluge and violent action.” The Spirit of God spoke of the earth experiencing a violence that would produce changes in the earth’s surface and deeper. I also caught a glimpse of Ukraine and Russia during this period. The stench of death almost overwhelmed me. I asked God what it would take to stay His hand of execution in the USA specifically, and He simply replied, “BLESS ISRAEL and pray for America.”

WE CAN CHANGE THE COURSE OF EVENTS THAT OUR ENEMIES DESIRE.

Codebreakers:

The tragedy in Nepal has grieved the nations. Many loved ones from Nepal and around the world are still unaccounted for underneath the rubble. Buildings have been reduced to ashes. But is this the end? Is there reason to hope? Is there only darkness ahead? What prophetic secrets have been revealed regarding what God will do in third world nations, including India and throughout Asia? Could it be that out of the ashes, redemption and deliverance will arise?

Blessings,
Kim Clement
